Guerilla Art Project in New York City!

I recently read about this great Guerilla Art Event that will be taking place in New York City by Jenn Mason from Cloth Paper Scissors. See here for the details.
Jenn says, "Now is your chance to be part of something bigger. We're having a guerilla freeART show in New York City and we need your art!"
Today, she will be hosting the sidewalk freeART show. Anyone passing by will receive a piece of freeART. As a result, Jenn was looking for collage artists to participate by sending in
 6" x 6" collages.

 Here is my collage submission.

Items in the collage include postage stamps, a painted hummingbird, printed art words, gold leafing, sections of script letters, butterfly cut outs, rubber stamp lettering and stamp cancellation marks.
You can follow the activities on Facebook.com/clothpaperscissorsmag  or find her on twitter:
@CPSmagazine #freeART

Making the collage was so much fun that I decided to create a new series of  these
 6"x 6" collages.
Here's one of my favorites.

Stay tuned for more of my new series!

Love your contribution and the start of your new series. There is so much vitality, energy and life in these pieces! Some lucky person will be working away with art today -- how great!!

Such a great idea to give away art. Someone here is going to be really lucky – must give butterflies in the stomach to receive it! Very powerful, expressive and filled with music – thanks! That’s energy!! Look forward to next post in the series.

What a cool idea! 6x6 must be the new "in" size as I recently donated some little collages and wall mounted dimensional books to a fund raiser! Wish I had been walking by that day!!

oooh, i may be too late but if not, i want to participate! how fun to be a part of something so big. your pieces are gorgeous, miss jilly. i love the colors and of course the butterflies and stamps. so jilly, and so lovely! the humming bird is so lovely that i want to get it tattooed on my right arm.

when i do the alberta art fair (an open air art market in the summer) i pick one person to give a piece to. the NY event sounds WAY better and more fun. and oddly, i just cut up some pieces of 6x6 book board the other day without a real vision of what i was going to do with it. guess i know now.

sending you heaps of love and good health for 2012 and beyond. xx

Oh, so some lucky person will go home with your collage. What a lucky person, and what an incredible idea! I also love this piece, and seeing your series begin... the butterfly and the stamps and that gorgeous red-orange. May your year be filled with energy, creativity and art.
And most of all, I can hardly wait for our time together at the end of March!!!
