Reflections....

Here's a more uncommon Central Park view on an overcast evening looking at The Central Park Boathouse Restaurant  from a man made lake in the foreground.  I'm always mesmerized by reflections- in mirrors, windows, glass, water-  everywhere that they may be.  It's seeing a a duplication of a picture through light- with variations that are so unique to me - whether it's a distortion with a twist of view or an optical illusion. It  always makes me think about what I'm seeing and its reference to our surroundings. A reflection is a flash from a moment in time -never to be seen again, but rather an echo of life with new  threads.
A reflection is an echo in life with endless ripples that tell a story.

Here's the infamous Bethesda Fountain from behind- a view typically not seen in  pictures.

And a reflection from the wooden restaurant dock with its evening light aglow - creating the most beautiful marbled pattern in the dark green water.

And one of my favorites - the sky and tree leaves' view as  a reflection on the water.

Look carefully for what our eyes tell us isn't always what we really see.
Sometimes it's what we want to see, and other times, it's what we don't want to see.
The very best view is what puts the most outrageous smile on our face and  lights up our heart with fireworks that makes our soul aglow.

Remnants of Winter's Touch!

Central Park is my home away from home -always in awe of the impact the seasons have on the look and feel of the park - enamored with its fluctuating light, varying vegetation, abundance of flowers in the spring time and exuberant energies felt throughout the year. Winter though has another feel altogether. It has a quiet peacefulness with a majestic quality. Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago-during a period of an abundance of rain and snow.
As I walk up Fifth Avenue with the excitement of going to the conservatory gardens at 105th Street, I feel the trees surrounding me- yet at the same time making way as I continue down the street.

Here is one of my favorite statues of these free spirited dancing women- draped in layers of  cloth floating through their arms.

And a tree with amazing autumn leaves still holding tight to stay on.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of the vitality, peacefulness and motion of beautiful New York City!

And as we say goodbye to winter- I welcome the spring with its lightness of air, blooming exploding flowers, bright shining sun making everything shimmer -creating new canvases filled with wondrous sights to see!

Central Park's Harlem Meer - on a Perfect Winter Day!

What a wonderful day in New York City it was to take a walk through the Harlem Meer (dutch word for lake) and the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, an art and nature visitor's hub, viewing the birdfest of life waddling across the frozen lake - slipping and sliding across the ice while scavenging for food!
As you enter Central Park through the Conservatory Gardens, I'm always awe struck by the intricate designs in the stately entrance gate.
The beautiful fountain sits quietly- without the spring time spraying water flowing freely with flowers blooming colors everywhere. Now, there is a beautiful peaceful calm, with simple delicate lines throughout the winter foliage.
The flowers are now skeletal structures- beautiful, strong, wild, with a royal presence all their own!
The park corridors were empty, void of sounds with the exception of hidden birds chirping.
And the loud yet peaceful sounds of the park echos throughout its noble paths.
Love when the geese display such a beautiful line up.
The standout white swan painstakingly takes each step slowly across the ice.
And is there anything that can rival this pure simplistic beauty of swans joined together?
Happy New Year and all the very best for peace, joy, happiness and the ability to find bliss in each and every day!

Central Park's Endless Beauty Continues in It's Conservatory

Just steps off of Fifth Avenue and 104th Street in New York City, the most beautiful gardens can be found in an area called The Conservatory which is located in Central Park.
It's a wonderland all to itself- filled with beautiful statues,
lily pad filled ponds,
a fountain complete with a gorgeous rainbow,
trees,
bushes,
and formal gardens.
There's a also a beautiful man made lake
complete with ducks, swans, fish and a boathouse!
The only thing not included is a camera-
and as you can see- I brought one with me.
So glad you were able to come on this little tour of endless beauty!

Picture Perfect Central Park- Just An Unimaginable Autumn Day

It's not every day that you can capture the most exquisite sites in Central Park- a picture perfect day to gaze upon the brilliance of nature right in front of your eyes. It's so breathtakingly beautiful that it's hard to believe that you haven't stepped right inside a masterpiece painting- created out of the most dreamy of imaginations.
So travel with me into a palette of autumn colors, fancy full of shades and rich textures of the park's remarkable picturesque design and magical charm.
And as daylight turns to night, and the sun slowly sets, the city comes alive again with the lights of the city's energy - transforming it's magnificent daylight into the most showstopping nightlight!
And as the moon light shines bright with it's powerful watch over the evening sky and shadows over the city that "never sleeps", a new day wakes under its strength and begins anew. One filled with the wonder of a city that changes with each blink of your eye and every moment that goes by, mirroring the image of an autumn wonderland fitted in a covering of shear brilliance.
