Remnants of Winter's Touch!

Central Park is my home away from home -always in awe of the impact the seasons have on the look and feel of the park - enamored with its fluctuating light, varying vegetation, abundance of flowers in the spring time and exuberant energies felt throughout the year. Winter though has another feel altogether. It has a quiet peacefulness with a majestic quality. Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago-during a period of an abundance of rain and snow.
As I walk up Fifth Avenue with the excitement of going to the conservatory gardens at 105th Street, I feel the trees surrounding me- yet at the same time making way as I continue down the street.

Here is one of my favorite statues of these free spirited dancing women- draped in layers of  cloth floating through their arms.

And a tree with amazing autumn leaves still holding tight to stay on.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of the vitality, peacefulness and motion of beautiful New York City!

And as we say goodbye to winter- I welcome the spring with its lightness of air, blooming exploding flowers, bright shining sun making everything shimmer -creating new canvases filled with wondrous sights to see!

Central Park's Harlem Meer - on a Perfect Winter Day!

What a wonderful day in New York City it was to take a walk through the Harlem Meer (dutch word for lake) and the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, an art and nature visitor's hub, viewing the birdfest of life waddling across the frozen lake - slipping and sliding across the ice while scavenging for food!
As you enter Central Park through the Conservatory Gardens, I'm always awe struck by the intricate designs in the stately entrance gate.
The beautiful fountain sits quietly- without the spring time spraying water flowing freely with flowers blooming colors everywhere. Now, there is a beautiful peaceful calm, with simple delicate lines throughout the winter foliage.
The flowers are now skeletal structures- beautiful, strong, wild, with a royal presence all their own!
The park corridors were empty, void of sounds with the exception of hidden birds chirping.
And the loud yet peaceful sounds of the park echos throughout its noble paths.
Love when the geese display such a beautiful line up.
The standout white swan painstakingly takes each step slowly across the ice.
And is there anything that can rival this pure simplistic beauty of swans joined together?
Happy New Year and all the very best for peace, joy, happiness and the ability to find bliss in each and every day!

City Streets Celebration

City sites on a winter day -filled with beautiful colors, winter wonder, shades of light, textures and beautiful buildings! No matter where you go, taxis are always right in front of you except when you need one! Love to always look up to see what's towering overhead. Then when your mind has been filled with cement, steel and glass structures, it's always wonderful to look down and see what nature has in store for you.

Magic in the Winter Solstice!

Winter- the start of a new season. White and cold and windy and brisk. But also settling and peaceful and a time to reflect. We have the freedom to think about what's important and how we want to spend our time. The earth is so large, and our time is so short. We must choose to blend our dreams within our days and within our nights. For we are all blessed with large open hearts to receive all the sparkling synchronicity and magic that surrounds us.
